A Christmas Carol

We discussed 'A Christmas Carol' by Charles Dickens last discussion group. We all enjoyed the book. We did a quiz which was not well received, although Donna won a copy of "The Hunchback of Notre Dame". We will be discussing this book in March.

We went to Carol's house for a viewing of a "Muppet Christmas Carol" early in the week. A good time was had by all, good food and drink, good movie and good company. Thanks Carol. Missed you Juli.

Have decided to use other venues for our book nights as the accoustics at the Lodge are not the greatest. Very noisy. Prospective group members have been put off as they can't hear what is going on. We will meet at John's Restaurant on January 14th to discuss "Anne of Green Gables" by Lucy Maud Montgomery. The Book Keeper has copies available. I've heard that the copies of "The Dwelling Place" finally made it here from the UK.

Did anyone see "Northanger Abbey" on TVO last Sunday? Not bad at all. "Mansfield Park" this coming Sunday then "Persuasion" on December 30th. I heard that there is a new "Sense and Sensibility" made for TV. Airing in the UK at the end of the month, who knows when and if it will get here though.

A very Merry Christmas to you all. Best wishes for a happy holiday from Susan.
