Apparently there are new adaptions of three Jane Austin books coming up on TVO. ... Northanger Abbey, Sunday, Dec. 16 @9 pm......Mansfield Park, Sunday Dec. 23 @9 pm. ..... Persuasion, Sunday Dec. 23 @ 9 pm.
Yes I realise that the last two are supposedly showing at the same time. This is what my source said though. Those of us locals who are interested in watching them will have to try and sort it out without the benefit of a TV guide using only our TV displays and perseverence. Please let me know if you figure it out.
Unfortunately Northanger Abbey and Mansfield Park are my two least favourite Jane Austins. Persuasion is very good though. The only version I have seen of Northanger Abbey was excrutiating so hopefully this one will be better......The Jane Austen Society showed the Amanda Root and Cieran Hind version of Persuasion at the library in London a few months ago. That was very well done.
